Oxford Landing recorded o of its coolest vintages ever in 2002, resulting in wines with concentrated flavour, colour and excellnt varietal definition. Small parcels of fruit were selected from the oldest low-yielding blocks of Shiraz grown at Oxford Landing. The predominant soure of this fruit is 40 year old vines grown on a wide T trellis. Oxford Landing Shiraz 2002 is a deep ruby red in colour with hints of magenta. On the nose white pepper and spice blend with cherry, plum and hints of vanilla. Ripe cherry and raspberry fruit flavours dominate the mid-palate, complemented by layers of vanillin oak, soft tannins and raspberry fruit flavours that linger on the finish. A great wine on its own or to complement a wide range of food. Red/purple in colour, it shows aromas of toasty oak, stewed plums, mocha and cloves that are echoed on the palate. A nice juicy acidity and fine tannin grip clean up at the finish.
