This delightful wine is made from a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre, red grape varieties planted in the Barossa by the early pioneers. They quickly discovered that blended together, these varieties are complementary and give a wine which is soft, complex and very accessible. Grenache provides softness and palate sweetness, the Shiraz brings richness and chocolate characters, whilst attractive peppery wildness is delivered by the Mourvèdre – together they harmonise to give a delicious red wine, so satisfying and easy to sip. A full flavoured and exciting expression of modern Australian wine, ideal for today’s alfresco society. Colour: Bright cherry red Bouquet: Soft velvet fruit characters of cherry stone and dusted chocolate. Palate: Wonderfully balanced medium weight red wine. It has a savoury texture, complex wild, spicy fruit flavours and finishes with fine soft tannins. A wine of softness and approachability, perfect for drinking now. Blend: 34% Grenache, 33% Shiraz, 33% Mourvèdre Fruit source: Mature, low yielding Barossa Valley vineyards. Wood: 12 months in old French and American hogsheads.
