Sparkling Shiraz is the uniquely Australian wine style that is made for indulgent pleasure. The Peter Lehmann Black Queen is a salute from our Queen of Clubs to perhaps the most hauntingly famous Black Queen of all. The Queen of Sheba. Who describes herself thus in the Song of Solomon, “I am black, but comely”. There can be no better description of this wine. Colour: Deep plum, promising rich concentrated flavours with a fine mousse. Bouquet: Black cherries, overtones of dusty chocolate with lovely yeast complexity. Palate: A velvet explosion of soft black fruits and chocolate on the middle palate, reigned in by the gentle tannins and long finish. There is a combined complexity of Shiraz fruit flavours and an attractive cracked yeast character from the secondary fermentation. Fruit Source: Low yielding premium Barossa vineyards.
