Peter Lehmann Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 #16149
Peter Lehmann Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

“One of the world’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon values is Peter Lehmann’s effort.”
Robert Parker, ‘The Wine Advocate, Oct.2002

Peter Lehmann Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon is recognised internationally as one of Australia’s great Cabernet styles.
Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Barossa results in a beautifully structured wine with hints of violet and mint, with superb cassis blackcurrant on the palate. They are noted for their longevity and give a handsome reward to those choose to cellar these wines.

Colour: Dense black red
Bouquet: Notes of cedar, rich blackcurrant and hints of violet
Palate: A wine of great depth and superb mouth-feel with layers of rich fruit reined in by the firm, fine Cabernet tannins. Oak character predominantly French, add soft vanillin undertones to give added complexity to this beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon.
Wood: 12 months maturation, the major portion in French oak hogsheads.
Fruit Source: Barossa Valley
Vintage: Following some very hot days during mid-summer, the weather during harvest became quite mild. The Cabernet fruit ripened beautifully on the vine and arrived at the winery in peak condition.
Cellaring: The wine will continue to develop in the bottle for eight plus years.

Alc/Vol: 13.5%

Serving Suggestion: Enjoy with a wide range of red meat and poultry dishes. Delicious with traditional lamb pie, and roasted beef, duck or squab. Also fantastic with osso bucco or mature cheeses.
