Plantagenet Pinot Noir 2001 #16147

The 2001 was one of the best in the past few years. Warm and dry conditions allowed the fruit to ripen to its full potential. Colour: Deep brick red. Aroma: Cherries and strawberries with a hint of charred oak. Palate: The palate of this Pinot shows the traditional strawberry and cherry characters. Spicy oak adds to the complexity and gives the wine a long finish that is filled with flavour. Suggested Foods: Asian dishes, cheeses. Technical Details: Fermented in open fermenters. A combination of new and one to two year old oak was used for maturation over twelve months. Acidity 6.5g/l, alcohol 14.6%.
