Wyndham Estate Bin 333 Pinot Noir 1999 #16148
Wyndham Estate Bin 333 Pinot Noir 1999

Vintage Conditions
The 1999 Wyndham Estate Bin 333 Pinot Noir is a multi-regional blend with fruit sourced from New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. The inclusion of fruit from both warm and cool viticultural regions has created a wine with delicate fruit characters and a generous mid-palate structure. A wet spring followed by hot conditions during January allowed warm area fruit to ripen fully prior to the March rains. Fruit from all areas was harvested in excellent condition at a range of sugar concentrations. All vineyards were inspected regularly in the weeks leading up to harvest and the decision to begin picking was made only when berry flavour was maximised.

Harvest Date: 22nd February to 30th March, 1999
Bottling Date: September 1999 and February 2000

Alcohol: 12.5% ALC/VOL
Total Acid: 5.2g/L
pH: 3.53

Colour: Medium intensity crimson red with purple tints.
Bouquet: Confectionary cherry and fresh raspberry fruit characters are complemented by a background of cedar and spice oak. A hint of leather is emerging and is likely to build as the wine matures
Palate: Medium bodied with ripe raspberry flavours complemented by hints of fresh strawberry and spicy cedary oak. Soft and supple grape tannins offer support and structure to the delicate berry flavours which carry through to a long and balanced finish.
This wine is suitable for early consumption being soft and approachable now, however its complexity will be further enhanced by cellaring for a few years
